HIFU
Hifutherapy or high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a relatively new technology that increases collagen production and tightens the skin with the help of ultrasound waves. HIFU was initially used to treat tumors, but was first used for beauty in 2008. Then, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved its use for eyebrow lifting in 2009. The device was also approved by the FDA in 2014 to improve wrinkles on the upper chest and neck (décolleté area).
